The inter-navigational pause is caused by the flood period and will last about a month

During the winter navigation period along the Northern Sea Route (NSR) from September to May, more than 11,000 tons of cargo: building materials, metal structures, equipment, machinery and others - were delivered to the Norilsk project "Neutralization of sulfuric acid".

The inter-navigational pause is caused by the flood period and will last about a month. At this time, the port of Dudinka will not be available. Transportation along the NSR will start again as the consequences of the flood are eliminated and the berths are prepared for operation.

The port of Arkhangelsk will continue to work. STEP’s representative: a nominated freight forwarder – will stay here and will receive goods, perform their storage and dispatch.

Employees of the Logistics and FEA Service will be relocated to Krasnoyarsk during the summer river navigation. The first barges will go up the stream of the Yenisei to Dudinka not earlier than mid-June.

Thus, it will be possible to use both sea and river routes until the beginning of October.

“Undoubtedly, we need Arkhangelsk for the period of river navigation: some goods are left there, some goods are still arriving, for example, a part of the long-term production cycle equipment is expected to arrive. We will look at priorities and costs: if there is no sense in transporting cargo from Krasnoyarsk, if, for example, the supplier is geographically located near Murmansk or Arkhangelsk, then we will use the NSR,” commented on the current situation Anatoly Tyarasov, Director of the Logistics and FEA Service.
